Song: Love You So Much
Bible Passage: Psalm 31: 9 - 18

Love You So Much

Hear these praises from a grateful heart, each time I think of You the praises start.
Love You so much, Jesus, Love You so much.
Lord I love you and my heart sings, here in Your presence carried on Your wings
Love You so much, Jesus, love You so much.
How my soul longs for You, longs to worship You forever,
In Your power and majesty.
I lift my hands, I lift my heart, I lift my voice towards the heavens,
For You are my sun and shield.  [Russell Fragar]

Love the Lord all His saints, the Lord preserves the faithful but the proud He pays back in full.  Be strong and take heart all you who hope in the Lord. [Psalm 31: 23 – 24]

A

Sunday school teacher had been leading a conversation about saints, and asked if the children knew who the saints were. The youngster thought for a minute and, remembering the stained glass windows in the sanctuary, answered, "The saints are the people the light shines through!"

The word “saints” describes a group of people set apart for the Lord and His kingdom, people who lift their hands, hearts and voices toward the heavens.  The most wonderful thing about this word in the Bible is that it is almost always used in the plural and that we are apart of this group – Christians, the body of Christ, His church – we are the “saints” that the Psalmist is referring to in this passage.    We are called saints because we are sanctified people and the definition of sanctified is “to put something to its intended and proper use.   We Christians are people who through a relationship with Jesus Christ, receiving His grace and believing in the message of the gospel, are blessed to have our lives put to their proper and intended use with His light shining through us.

We Christians are set apart and yet, never alone – we have Christ, our Sun and Shield and other saints walking with us.  Join with saints in your church, your neighborhood and your community in Bible studies, prayer groups, outreach ministries, and other small group ministries.  That is how we “saints” will keep from giving up, how we will stay close to God, love Him with all our hearts and remain strong, brave and encouraged.  The light of Christ that shines through us, His saints, is the light that will lead others to Him.  If you are not currently worshipping with a congregation of saints, find a Biblically based church and begin worshipping with them.  Christ meant for us to be a part of His body, His saints – the light is better there!
